Teaching and learning
By following this theoretical and practical syllabus, learners cover a range of topics including use of textiles, style and choice of clothing, use of patterns, fitting and assembling garments, and how to care for clothing. The aim is to develop learners' creative and aesthetic awareness, stimulating an enjoyment in the creative use of textiles.
Learners develop the practical skills essential for further study, which will also last a lifetime. Through their studies, learners also develop a discriminating and informed approach to the marketing of clothes, learning how to assess suitability and recognise quality, in the context of fashion and textiles.
